My child is going to primary school for the first time
It is compulsory for that child between the ages of seven (7) and twelve (12) to attend primary school in Seychelles. All regions have at least a primary and secondary school for children within the neighboring district providing primary level education.
Who can enrol in a primary school?
Parents or Guardians would receive the date for the enrolment for their children going to school for the first time between the months of May and June. The parent has to be Seychellois or has a temporary resident status.
What document do I need to produce?
On the enrolment day, you require to bring the following document in order to facilitate the enrolment process:
• Guardian / Parents’ National Identity card
• Child's National Identity card
• Child's birth certificate
In case of an expatriate, Immigration status document
Where do I need to go?
You will need to go to primary school in your region or district. If you are not sure which schools to go to, then you have to contact the Ministry of Education before enrolment date.
Where can I obtain more information about primary education and schools?
More information about primary education, schools and initiatives can be obtained from the Ministry of Education through the Primary Education Section. You may contact either office from Monday through Friday, from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm, except on public holidays.
